WELCOME GUIDE
Thank you for choosing me to capture your family's genuine moments. My approach focuses on simplicity and authentic emotions, ensuring your photos reflect the true essence of your family.
This session is about spending time together as a family while I quietly document the connection between you.
Preparing for Your Session
Mindset:
Relax and Play:
Approach the session with a relaxed and playful attitude.
Genuine interactions lead to the most heartfelt photographs.
Well-being:
Ensure everyone, especially children, are well-fed and rested before the session.
Try to avoid planning any busy activities on the same day as your photoshoot, such as a long walk or sports.
Bringing along favourite snacks can be helpful.
If you have young children, tell them a friend is coming to take photos of your family with a camera.
You can also show them a photo of me ahead of time so they know what I look like.
Attire Recommendations:
Comfort is Key
Wear outfits that make you feel comfortable and represent your true self.
Color Palette
Please opt for earthy tones to achieve a timeless and natural look.
Avoid Distracting Elements
Steer clear of fluorescent colors and clothing with text or logos, unless they hold personal significance.
What to Expect:
During our session, I'll provide gentle guidance to capture natural interactions. The goal is to document your family's unique story authentically and enjoyably. We may walk a little, explore the trails, and find beautiful pockets of light along the way. If I'm not saying anything, that just means keep doing what you're doing! And if you're ever not sure what to do, simple connection always works — a hug, a kiss, holding hands, a hand brushing a cheek. Or get playful, toss the kids in the air, spin them around, whatever feels natural and fun for your family in that moment.
Basically: you get to just be the fun, present parents, and I'll take care of everything else from behind the camera. I'll be shooting the whole time, so there's no need to pause or "get ready", just play, connect, and enjoy your time together.
Embracing Real Moments
Kids are welcome to play, explore, cuddle, and be themselves. Some of the most meaningful photographs happen in those unscripted moments. Please try to avoid saying "no" to your kids during the session, unless it's a genuine safety concern. Kids pick up on tension quickly, and if they hear "no" often, the whole experience starts to feel less fun for everyone, for them and for you. If I ask your child to do something and they don't do it, or they do something totally different instead, that's more than okay. Honestly, kids usually come up with something better than what I had in mind anyway!
Additional Tips:
Props
Feel free to bring along meaningful items.
A picnic blanket can be wonderful, we may sit together on the ground while you cuddle with your little ones.
Weather Considerations
Sessions are typically held outdoors; in case of inclement weather, we'll discuss rescheduling options.
Arrival Time
Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so everyone has time to settle in. We’ll begin right on time to make the most of the light.
Think of the session as a relaxed family walk where I quietly document the connection between you.
